For those of you who have a dream to make money online, please pay attention. We are going to discuss one of the fundamental underpinnings of internet marketing success throughout this article. That fundamental underpinning is what is know as list building, or email marketing. It does not matter what type of website or blog you are utilizing, if you want to make money online with it, you have to start giving your visitors a means and opportunity to provide you with their email address.

The problem with most internet marketers, is that they maintain a focus on getting traffic to their website, while overlooking what happens with that traffic once it gets there. In the scenario where there is a focus on driving traffic to your website, a visitor can come to your site, and leave just like that, never to be seen again. However, if a visitors comes to your website and is enticed with a free offer which needs to be delivered via email, then they will provide you with their e-mail address, and you will have the opportunity to communicate with them in the future. You may have heard this statistic before, but for every person on your email list, you should earn approximately $1 per month. Therefore, list building is important for those who wish to make money online.

Sounds good right? So how do we go about building this list? There are a few things that you can do. For example, you can add a signup form to your website. While this is somewhat effective, I do not think it is bold enough. I prefer the option of actually having the opt in form float in from the top of the screen in the form of a box. This is what I use on my websites, as can be demonstrated by clicking the link at the end of this article. As you can see, there is no way that you can miss that. Also, you can see what I offer to visitors who provide me with their email address. Nothing but high value.

A good thing to practice, is letting your visitors know that if they provide you with their email address, you will not be sharing it with anyone else. Your visitors need to know that they can trust that they will only receive what they are signing up for.

I know that earlier I mentioned that each person on your email list should equate to about $1 per month. With that being said, make sure that you do not merely focus on getting as money generic people to subscribe to your list as possible. Do not fall into the trap of purchasing email lists. These lists are at best just below lukewarm. You want to maintain a responsive email list with people who will be interested in what you are selling. If you do decide to purchase an email list, just make sure that you do your research. There are so many companies out there who are in the business of taking money, and providing little value.

With that being said, it is my opinion that purchasing an email list leaves a lot to be desired, even if you are dealing with a legitimate company. Remember, the main reason why people on your email list will be responsive to what you offer them is because of your relationship with them. You will have a much more difficult time developing a relationship with a subscriber who was handing off to you from someone else. Those who make money online and have the most success have developed their own email list. I strongly suggest that you do the same.

Creating a responsive email list is critical is your goal is to Make Money Online. All of the best Make Money At Home entrepreneurs understand why it is important to build your list. Drop by and see us at SOSComplete.com

When it comes to the “follow-up” after you’ve gotten your customer, there’s a lot of this you can automate, of course. Autoresponders, for example, are a great way to follow-up with customers instantaneously in many instances. However, they’re not good for everything, and this is where being able to “man the phones” is going to benefit your business greatly.

If someone joins your list and then takes whatever initial offering you give them, some may be satisfied with just an email that thinks them for their purchase or welcomes them to the list. However, many people will really enjoy getting a personal follow-up, from a live person. Doing so over the phone is one way to do it that can be easy to do and will give your customers personal service, too. Because, let’s face it; there’s never been a “frequently answered questions” section that could answer EVERY question customers have had.

So with a live person on the phone, the customer can ask anything and get an answer right now. That is the type of world we live in and the Internet has cultivated a “right now” attitude. We want things better, we want things faster and we want them right now. So acquiesce and give it to them right now. Hit the phones and take some calls.

In today’s convenient world of email, a phone call can be a very powerful tool indeed. Talk to a new subscriber, and you’ll be sure to impress him or her simply because you took the time to call. Many people are also more comfortable doing business with people over the phone then they are doing it via email.

If you can’t necessarily do live phone calls, why not try the option of live chat instead? It combines the immediacy of the phone call with the convenience of email, and it’s a little bit more streamlined than a phone call, too, so that it’s more efficient. Even so, it’s still beneficial to you as a business owner because you’re providing immediacy to your customers — and they benefit, too.

If you offer live customer service, you are in effect saying to your customers, “I care about you, and I care about your satisfaction. If you’re not satisfied, please talk to us.” Having the ability to get in touch with you can set you apart from your competition, for your customers. It also shows that you’re confident in your products and yourself, so that you can talk to customers anytime. This is a very powerful business “technique” that can’t be bought. Simply, you care about your customers and you put in the time showing it.

After a customer joins your list, signs up for your newsletter, etc., call or give them a live chat invite within just a few minutes. It doesn’t have to be much; you can simply say, “Welcome to the company, and let us know how we can be of service to you.” Customers will be amazed at this type of real, honest, personal service, so much so that they’ll revisit your site within a few hours — or better yet, tell other people about your site, too, so that those people, too, will become prospects and then, ideally, customers.

You get that from just one little short phone call or live chat of a few minutes’ length.

It’s also beneficial because you can get information from a customer by chatting with them live that you could never get with email. Perhaps you can ask the customer what else they’re interested in. You might have something they’d like to try. Or, perhaps they have a hobby you can help them with.

Just talk to them and see what shakes out. The point is to use that phone call for follow up as well as data mining.

I can’t count the amount of time i have heard countless real writers convincingly & stubbornly say that writing for free is a NO-NO. Since when? Being a beginning writer, I listened to and followed this advice, accepting it as solid gold. Quite frankly, between you & me, it is a pile of bull.

I’m an out of the box writer & I say writing for free or love is a YES-YES. In the event you’ve fallen out of the routine of writing, this may prime your pump, so to speak. We will get those squeaky wheels spinning, apply some oil (writing), & before you are aware of it, you will be moving along in no time at all.

Now i’m not advising that you should write for free forever. What I’m saying is that on occasion we tend to fail to remember the enjoyment we once experienced when writing from our hearts.

I believe all writing, regardless of whether you’re writing at no cost or writing for money, is all fine. I also think you may need a solid measure of both. Should you write for pay, then you will know how taxing & exhausting the entire process is. It gets very overwhelming at times. Writing because of the sheer love of writing enables you to be inventive & write what you are passionate about.

Writers ought to write and submit to article sites. There are numerous reasons:

You’ll get lots of practice writing.

You’ll create a writing objective and see it come to the final result, which will encourage you to achieve higher on your next desired goals.

And you will learn how to write a great bio for your posts.

Have a website? Your bio will compel and magnetize new site visitors.

You will also build up trust.

You will also learn how to write to command a visitor to wait and browse.

Some people make the mistake of disregarding customer service when running an online business. The truth is that the higher your customer service standard, the more money you will be able to earn. The simple fact is this: people are more likely to buy from you when you treat them like people instead of sales.

Say you create your web page and sit back and wait for the money to come in, you may make a little money. But you aren’t going to make near as much as you could if you gave these customers a good reason to come back to you. It shouldn’t be hard to provide good customer service to your buyers.

Start today by offering the following solutions to your customers. Whenever anyone buys from your site, don’t forget to thank them by e-mail. Even if your business is set up to be pretty much automated, an automated “thank you for your purchase” e-mail sent to each person who buys something from you will go a long way. Most e-mail providers have an easily set up and FREE auto response system that you can use to create a simple “thank you for buying my product” e-mail. This is definitely worth doing!

This is a way you can get more sales by just sending out one extra e-mail! Look over the quality of the pages on your web site and make sure they are written well and attractive. Correct any mistakes in spelling or grammar. When visitors see your website or blog, that will be the first impression they have of you. If you want people to trust you and try your products, you don’t want them to have to be bothered with typos or sloppily written sales pages. If you aren’t very good or experienced at writing, find someone who can do it for you! It’s not hard to find people to do writing or editing for you.

It wouldn’t hurt to send your customers something free of cost. This doesn’t mean to send a free newsletter every few weeks, either. You should tailor the offering to your business, so if you are an article writer you could offer a free article on a topic that the customer has requested before. Or if you work with affiliates selling their products, you can check their website for anything they may be giving away for free, and you could send these products to your customers. They will appreciate the free things and will be more likely to buy from you again in the future! There is no reason to think that good customer service is only necessary in traditional businesses.

If you continually disappoint your customers with a poor standard of customer service, you will find that they never return to buy from you again. Believe it or not, customer service can be the deciding factor in the success of an online business. What efforts are you making to improve your customer relations?

I’ve used it to promote my IM Eye Review. So do you want to know more about it? I wrote the details on the IMeye site, please check it out.

A well planned search engine optmisation campaign should always start with on page optmisation. As the name already suggests, this part of a search engine optimisation will optimise key elements on-page.

To start the on-page optmisation process, keyword research is the paramount of importance. This will ascertain the most relevant keywords related to your site’s theme. Another important factor that should be considered here is the search volume of each keyword you are analyzing.

There are various free keyword analyzing tools available today, with wordtracker, keyword discovery and the Google Adwords keyword suggestion tool been the most used ones.

Once you have a list of keywords that you are happy with, it’s time to start implementing those keywords on the right places on your website’s pages.

The most important on page optimisation element are the title tags. The title tag is the first thing search engines robots look at when they crawl a page, and it’s given a very high importance by the search engines so it’s crucial to add you keywords to your title tags.

Another good place to add your keywords is in the meta description and keywords tags, these meta tags are not as important as they used to be, but since search engines normally displays the meta description tags as the text snippet under the link to your site on the SERPs, writing compelling meta description tags can make your site stand out on the SERPs and instigate searchers to click through your link.

Headers are another important element that should be given special attention, search engines give a high importance to headers, especially the H1 headers or H1 tags, adding your keywords to these tags can help improve the rankings for these keywords.

Since the search engines are not good in reading images you will need to use special tags to tell the SE what the image represents, these special tags are called ALT tags. Again an important place to add your keywords and always use a meaningful file name to your images, for instance “dog-playing-with-ball.jpg” is much better than “DC23124.jpg”.

The content or the text of your pages should also be optmised. Optmise your content in a way that suits both your visitors and the search engines. Don’t stuff your content with keywords; try to use synonyms and variations of your keywords. By en-bolding the odd keyword, this also high lights important text to the search engines, once again care must be taken to not look artificial.

With these guidelines we covered more or less all the on-page optmisation elements.
